Same here, i will wait using 1.6 until some new releases have come.
So about 2012 i will start using the 1.6 version. Not sooner atleast.

Is there a dedicated page to the project status?
That way us customers can see some progress other than having to put up with people trolling forums.

- Just go to the usual joomla development page. And you will see the 1.6 folder there for both bugtracking and progress.

While I really like the nested category structure in 1.6, for once in my life I'm waiting. I'm to much of a novice to deal with all the quirks and bugs.

Wouldn't surprise me if it took at least a year since it took a long time for 1.0 -> 1.5 extensions.
Some extensions never got upgraded. - Please reply with a direct link to the issue & create a new thread for each new issue.
A template is only as good as the content that goes into it

Have you ever been standing at the street corner waiting to cross the street with a group and the light just won't change?
Then, one guy from the group sees a break in traffic and goes to cross...
...everyone else in the group sees him cross and just steps right into the street without looking either way and has no real idea that cars are coming towards them and the light in fact has not changed yet....
well, that's the wait for Joomla 1.6. Yes, it's released, but think of it as a break in the traffic and not as a green "all clear" light to just jump right in. You still need to sort out what items you really need and what items you really want, and then if you're ready to run for it even if some cars are coming your way.

Ok im up for a good debate. Dont really care either way on a RT 1.6 template timeline etc, but if there was one (a 1.6 release) wouldnt we all be trying it out?
Its a fair arguement, ....i would hate to take you guys to the horse races you wouldnt have a bet all day, waiting for a horse to nod his head at ya, to get on a good thing....
Im just starting my biggest traffic jam yet, probably 1.5 and K2 but I have a few weeks to decide fully, but it would have been nice to take some cars for a test drive just the same. - Black & White must be making a come back
