For me, there were still some files left that would not delete; they were in GantryAdmin. - Clearing the CACHE worked for me too.

- Thank you, clearing the cache also helped me. FYI I did use akeeba to transfer and I still have the problem

- i had the same the same error but in my case i was trying to edit my template using the template manager, and then same error appeared... pls help me

- Thanks for the tip in this post. I also cleared the cache (system > clear cache) and can access the template manager now. Could the caching issue also be why some plugins don't work when site goes live?
