Phonelines out in MI?????

Hi All
We host all our sites (and company account, e-mail etc) with a2hosting.com. We've forund them very good and relatively Joomla friendly (it all works!).
Anyway, today all our sites and a2hosting.com itself are unreachable on the web. On telephoning A2hosting, I received a phone utility messge saying that the number was unreachable due to telecommunications problems in the area. (this would obviously explain their servers being off the internet as well).
Anyone aware of any telecom issues around this area;
