I've been looking at various hosts to see which is best for my Joomla sites. My current host, 1&1 have just told me the reason my sites are unreliable and often really slow, is because their MySQL servers are shared and probably overworked! But they don't plan to do anything to sort this out.
So I'm left with no option but to jump ship to a host that cares. I've looked at Rochen which hosts joomla.org, but I'm wondering who hosts this site - it seems pretty responsive and reliable.
yup server4you, and aside form some issues right after the data center move early this week i've been very happy with them. no real issues in almost a year, and very fast machines.
Rochen hosts Joomla? Hmmm Interesting. I knew the guy that started Rochen Host, when he started it. He and I were both on the same server together once and we both started our own hosting company. I sold mine years ago. I wonder if teh same guy owns Rochen now.
I use Cernax hosting myself. I met the guy who runs it on another forum, I've had pretty good service there. I love their control panel, it installed Joomla for me! I do the $25 a year hosting plan right now until I have my site ready to go, then I'll upgrade to the $6 per month plan.
hope this isn't too OT:
I'm getting a problem with the joomla admin interface screens not building : the front end is ok, but in the admin side, clicking a link often (>80%) presents a white screen. Then it takes 2-3 hits of the refresh button to actually build the screen.
It's a server time-out issue? Any suggestions very very welcome!
