Hi everybody
now i´m a member of this great rockettheme community.
so i´m flying around the forums and i´m very happy about my life with the rocketteers.
in this community i met some of the best designers / coders i´ve ever seen (not kidding) 
but, to make it perfect, I think this community needs a CHAT !!
what are YOU thinkung about it ???
please let me know

the problem with chat rooms, is it tends to take away from the forum.
were as in the forum you have loads of things to read and support people.
with the instant answers on a chat room, people would be tempted to ask there.
thus no answers in the forums.

It would have to be heavily moderated in order to prevent the situation that Craig mentioned.
However, I use Chats as a predetermined disscussion on a specific topic, like a new policy, a scheduled event, etc. We meet at a scheduled time (for an houtr or two) for people to talk about a specific topic. The chat is moderated by the event organizer or such. After the chat is finished, it dissappears from the page until the time of the nextchat.

- I have to agree with craig on this one. I love IRC, I run an IRC server for the Joomla core team, and I'm usually on #joomla on freenode.net. The problem with discussing technical issues in a chat type environment is they only really help the person asking the question and is not browseable by someone later. That said, if you wanna chat with your fellow rocketeers I suggest hoping on #joomla on freenode.
