Pressing the Joomla update button killed my site...

    • Ok, my subscription has just run out. I have a joomla site 3.1.? with cerulean, due to a bug in the old 1.5 site I had, I just put this one live - it was about ready to go.
On the control panel I noticed that I needed to do some updates. So I clicked proceed and it failed. Now my site is dead. I'm getting these errors in the PHP/apache log:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method JLoader::registerAlias() in /home/site/htdocs/libraries/cms.php on line 61

I think its due to the Rocket theme templates, as nothing else has been added. Seems not many people have this issue when searching.

      Please can anyone help?

    • Just FYI. The problem happened due to Akeeba backup plug-in.

You can access the control panel directly using /administrator/index.php?option=com_installer then remove any sign of Akeeba, then you have to re-upload the files in the joomla directory. This should fix the site.
