    How to remove front page message

    Posted 18 years 1 month ago
    • Hi,

      Sometimes I keep my Frontpage free of content (Images and navaigation fill it)

      will-davies.com/index.php

      When there is no content for the frontpage I get the message "There are no items to display"

      How can I delete this default message?

      THANKS and regards

    • In the language, english.php file there is a line that says

      DEFINE('_EMPTY_BLOG','There are no items to display');

      delete the stuff between the quotes.

      warning: i am not an experienced user, so not sure what this will do, but it worked for my site.

    • What I've found by playing around is that whatever the first menu link is on the "main menu" is the page that your Joomla site will use by default.

      So, if you had a static content page that you left blank, or filled with images, or whatever, if you had that as the "Home" link on the main menu, and unpublished the Home link to goes to the "Frontpage" component, you would avoid that issue with the text and not have to touch any code at all.

      Hope that helps
