Copying Override *and* Widgets

  • Copying Override *and* Widgets

Posted 9 years 8 months ago
    • Hello,

I can easily copy an override, but can't work out how to copy an override, and associated widgets. I don't want to have to manually create widgets everytime we want to clone a page layout.

      Can you assist?

      Best, Daniel

    • why would you "clone" a layout? Just assign the same override to the new page... ?

    • I'd like to create a copy of our front page and stage changes to it prior to publishing.

    • as far as I know the Default Settings Widgets are the only ones that "persist" throughout Gantry... the whole idea of creating a new Override is so that you can have different widgets (other than your Default Settings ones), and potentially styling, on a specific page/group of pages...

    • Thanks, Matt. It's unfortunate that there is no way of staging overrides. Not very enterprise-ready.

    • Well, you can certainly manually stage your widgets in a new "Dev" Override... but no... you cannot copy existing widgets
