SOLVED Recent Post as Mosaic Grid

Posted 8 years 1 month ago
    • I'm using the Galatea Theme.
Is there a way to display recent post in lieu of the Gantry Mosaic?

      Thanks,

    • sure... you can put whatever Widget you want wherever you want... I believe WordPress has a core Recent Posts Widget...

Mosaic can also be fed recent posts... you'll likely have to create a new Instance in the RokSprocket admin... create a Mosaic with WordPress as the Provider and set up your Post filters in the upper right to pull by date (and by category if you want).

    • I'm quite familiar with RockSprocket.
Used to using it on Gantry 4, where you entered the shortcode in a widget.
Didn't know you could use them in Gantry 5 as well. Do I just use customHTML to write RockSproket shortcode then?

    • No, use the Module Position Particle to create a new position within your Layout Manager... then assign your RokSprocket module to that newly created position you defined in the Particle

    • I get how to create a Widget Position. How do I assign my RokSprocket module accordingly.
currently my shortcode is [roksprocket id="1"]

    • don't use the ShortCode...

Just go to Appearance > Widgets and Drag a RokSprocket Widget into your newly created position

    • Thanks. I'll assume this is true for most features too (i.e. swapping out Gantry 5 objects for widgets).

    • I'm not sure I follow the last question... we can't help you style a 3rd party Widget to look like our Template if that's what you mean... always happy to help with very small stuff, but full-on styled customization is beyond our scope here.

Swapping a particle for a widget is a pretty easy task though... just replace the Particle on the Layout Manager with either a Widget Instance Particle or a Widget Position Particle :)
