  • SOLVED How to implement "Alternative Layout" under Gantry?

    • Hi

      I love the Gantry/Rockettheme combination, but I have struck a problem.

      I'm wanting to make use of the Alternative Layout feature in Joomla 2.5 to allow me to create a specialised content layout for certain types of articles.

      While the technique is clearly described in various Joomla articles ( Layout overrides ), it doesn't work under the Gantry environment. I'm not the only person to notice this: Gantry Google Groups post .

      Can anybody explain how to do this in a Gantry environment?

      FYI, I am using:
      • Joomla 2.5.9
      • Gantry 4.1.8
      • Leviathan 1.1

      Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • We are looking at that closer after the release until then you might want to look at Cerulean.

      Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what about Cerulean I'm supposed to be looking for though. I've just gone through the information on the site and the demo system, and can't see how that template helps as such. Am I missing something? :?

    • look at the file structure in the mentioned folders of that template.
      Cerulean offers custom alternate layouts.

    • Does this apply to all overrides?

      I have been having trouble getting custom layouts working, i.e. body_mainbody.php, mod_sidebar.php, without any success.

    • no to override body_mainbody.php
      just copy
      libraries/gantry/html/layouts/body_mainbody.php
      to
      templates/rt_alerion/html/layouts/body_mainbody.php/

      (just taking alerion as an example here)

    • Yeah, use to work, but doesn't seem to anymore.

      Using latest version of gantry template and framework.

    • I used latest and it worked ... perhaps you need to clear the gantry cache?
