    SOLVED Styling inactive rootparent when submenu hovered

    Posted 12 years 9 months ago
    • I'd like the inactive parent root menu item to get a different style when one of the dropdownmenu items is hovered.
      I've managed to get this done for the active parent, but I can't seem to get it in place for the 'inactive' parents of which the dropdownmenu is hovered.

      So basically I need the following styles for the parent items:
      1. active parent root item: background blue and blue border, also when dropdownmenu is hovered
      2. all inactive root items: grey background, no border
      2. inactive parent root item with dropdown menu hovered: white background, blue border.

      I've created a simple picture of what I'm trying to realise without all the design elements:
      This image is hidden for guests.

      Is it possible to change the inactive parent root item style when the dropdown is hovered, without changing the other inactive parent root items?

      I'm using Joomla 1.5 and the default Gantry Framework Template.
      Any help is much appreciated :-)!

    • I used the following and that seems to work:
      .menutop li.parent.root:hover > .item, .menutop li.parent.root.f-mainparent-itemfocus > .item, .rt-splitmenu .menutop li:hover .item {
      css statements;
      }
