Customizing Theme Files

    • Hi

I am trying to add a link to add background images to some sections on the home page e.g. utility-b, i found this solution:

docs.gantry.org/gantry5/advanced/customizing-theme-files (This example is exactly what i want to do, i think?)

the problem is, is that the files it asks me to paste too dont exist? for e.g. /templates/TEMPLATE_DIR/custom/engine/templates/layout

There is no engine folder under custom? so therefore no templates or layous folder either, when I try create a folder it just disappears and i get a permission denied error?

I am trying to add a background image using the new Galatea Template?

is the guide i am using a bit outdated?

      thanks

    • No, I don't think that's what you necessarily want.

      1. Adding a link to a background could prove difficult as innevitably you will have other content sitting on top of thre background which would mask the link (rendering it inoperable).
      2. It would be a very unusal thing to do anyway
      3. Could you please post a URL to your site (this can be done in the secure area tab if you prefer) so we can look for you. Without a link to page where the problem is on your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.

Please do a screenshot of your problem and annotate to make it clear what you are trying to make link to where?

      Regards, Mark.
    • Please search forums before posting. Please make sure your post includes the version of the CMS you are using and a link to the problem. Annotations on screenshots can also be helpful to explain problems/goals. Please use the "secure" tab for confidential information.
