    • The template does not change the login procedure in anyway, nor does it touch the authentication procedure. The only way that this procedure can be affected is if you use the jomsocial login and authentication plugin and user plugin for jomsocial.
The template never changes the way joomla handles its sessions.
Without a link to your site and the login page it is impossible to see whether there are javascripts from jomsocial for example that cause problems. What login module are you using if any?
The suggestion that a template causes a session issue is pretty strange, unless jomsocial made changes to the login procedure itself.
Please provide a link to your site.

    • I was really curious about the issue, so I ran this through google: www.google.nl/search?q=Session+Expired.+...3-UsimO4WE5AbelYD4DA
It seems that this is not template related examining all the different threads.
Several people are reporting this issue on the jomsocial forums after updating their jomsocial.
Did you check the different threads on their forums? I am not a user of their component, so I cannot look in there.

    • Actually, I did try JomSocial first and did google quite a bit before coming here.

BTW, I used secure becuase on my ipad it wouldnt let me enter text until I toggled that. This time I had to toggle and then toggle back to get public to accept text on the ipad. your template Corvus has some ipad issues.

I guess I can live with the template being off on those pages. I cant afford to loose more regstrations so for now until I can afford to troubleshoot it, we can close the issue and I will just leave the template off.

This did not effect all users as I did have many user report being able to register, and I wasnt able to replicate it myself. I got some users to send me screenshots, googled, checked JomSocial and both places suggested turning off the Rockettheme template. Sure enough it worked. I get what your saying but as I said, I came to find out i lost a lot of registrations becuase of this and so I will post a message there and suggest some cross collaboration on the issue.

Us poor site owners are just caught in the middle.

    • I am not sure why you don't post a site link, if you were really in the middle, I wouldn't also be asking a list of other questions.
That I believe that jomsocial may be to blame does not mean that I am not willing to look into this :)
If you post a link and tell me what login modules you are using that would be a start.

    • With a little logic, you can understand that looking at a site that does not show the problem, it is impossible to diagnose it.
Since I do not have jomsocial and not plan to use it on a site, I can not try and replicate it either.
If this is a live site and you do want to run no risk of having people not registering because of this problem, then there is no way to diagnose it either.
I can explain why I am pretty sure this is a problem that is not caused by the template.
I have over the past two years worked on rokbridge, where sessions are the most important thing. You need to have sessions working correctly if you wish to bridge joomla and phpbb3. I have tested rokbridge with almost every setup of RT templates possible and never run into expired sessions.
The only thing that comes to mind is that your cookie settings are wrong, or you are not using the cookie plugin in joomla.
Check the user plugins and authentication plugins, check their order and check which ones are enabled. This is the best advice I can give you under these circumstances.

    • Could be the servers time is way off from top of the hour.
Sometimes a hoster server is not set to the right time (badly skewed from the top of the current hour).
UTC or not if the server time is skewed badly it will cause odd issues with cookies, time zone settings etc.

    • I dont have cookies enabled, however, I will look at the server time and see. I just dont understand though why turning off the template on those two pages seemingly fixed it.

Lets put this on hold for now until i have time to follow-up on suggestions ect.

      I appreciate everyones help!

      Thanks!
