The newest version (2.0?) should have been out by now; if not already, I would expect it to release in the not-too-distant future.  Give it a look:  http://www.azrul.com

There are also a couple decent free components listed in the Joomla mothership's extension directory.  I would start with those, play around a bit, see if they serve your need, and when they don't, give MyBlog a test drive.

MyBlog is the best by far, just takes a little cash to acquire it...

Definitely MyBlog. I am using it on my site, and it's really user friendly for the users, and administration is a sinch.
