can i have the wrapper display inside a module?
« on: August 21, 2008, 07:09:33 AM »

Is it possible that the wrapper has to open on a new page or can it open into a small window.  I am trying to use it in Terra Tribune.

Hello,

The wrapper can only open on a new page 'wrapping' a different page or site like here:  It cannot be done from a module.

thanks mike, but now let me reverse the question.

Can I have the modules on the new page.

Here is what I want to do.   I want to have the person see some information on the wrapped in site, and based on that information.  They can type something.

For example:  You read report from the wrapped in site, and then fill out a form based on that report.  But everything is done on the same screen. (not the same window but the same screen)

Is this possible?

You can display the wrapper in a module if you wish on your form component page. You'd want to manually insert the IFRAME html into a custom module.

Im sorry could you be a little more clear.  Maybe a simple example.  What do you mean the form component page?
Could you give me a click for click overview if that is okay?

This is something that isn't really template specific and you'll want to ask at http://forum.joomla.org for further ideas.

The basic idea is that you have a component that loads the report (that you mentioned in the example) and then have a wrapper module assigned above it. For this, you'll need to have the components and I assumed that you already had them.

Your Topic refers to placing a wrapper inside a module and the easiest way is to use the HTML code it: http://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_iframe.asp
