How do I move my joomla site out of a subfolder to make it my main website?

Is it just a matter of moving the folders out of the subdirectory to the main website and deleting the old static html and sub folders?

just move the site but on all the menu's im getting:
Not Found

The requested URL /new/index.php was not found on this server.
