Critique needed on site

Heres the site...  I am launching a church in my home town and have put together Hyperion for my purposes.  I have had to learn from scratch how to do Joomla! and template mods.    Haven't started promoting the website yet, until I have changed out the stock joomla content for our own.  Could use some help and advice on how to improve this site.

I'm not really sure where to begin... How familiar are you with Joomla? I would probably look at a few tutorials to to work on the placement of some of the modules, and with updating the layout of the news page to prevent the perverbial squashing of information. Joomla is very easy once you know how to operate it.

I really like where the site is going, keep up the hard work!

yeah.. Its messy.. with duplicate info here and there...
I am learning stuff everyday!.. my understanding of Joomla! is growing and I get pumped up everytime I figure somthing else out... trial by error... slow ,but a sure way to learn.
