Hello James,

I did the upgrade to 4 Gig. Like a perfect machine. Why have I waited so long to buy me a MAC? ;-)

Kurt.

Macbook - not the pro, with 10.5.  My drive is probably about to burst as I do video and have a lot of apps like FCP loaded on.

I have a G4 with OS 9 still running on it - works great and is a work station for some things.  I have a clamshell which I gave to my other half after selling the one I got for him, the one before it, the imac, and started with a performa some where in the late 90's.

I LOVE this little thing and it is USED to death.  I have been traveling and unsettled for months, so this was my selection and it was a good one.

macbook pro17  2.2ghz core duo w/ 2gb
macbook pro15 2.0ghz core duo w/ 2 gb (2)
macbook 2.2ghz core 2 duo w/ 4 gb
mac minis - 12 x 1.8ghz core 2 duo w/ 2gb each.

i also run disccloud vm & vmware on a cheap pc in house to manage all the mac mini's.

it's a small 5000 sq foot office for realtors + mortgage folks and i control everyone's environment using the disccloud vm.

it's a pretty awesome configuration and for each person who wants to access win xp on their mac mini, i use both vmware fusion and cord(remote desktop) - all the winxp instances are hosted as virtual machines on the same vmware machine i run disccloud.

however, my favorite mac would have to be no mac at all - disccloud.  because it lets me manage 36 mac desktops from 1 vm.  pretty cool.

I am running an old G4 with a dysfunctional fan I picked up for 250 bucks...it may be old, but I love it.

Specs:
- It runs (minus the fan every once in a while)
- It works
- It's a mac

Well Lets see.

My love affair started with a Powerbook 15' in 2006. It has 1GB of Ram and 120GB Hard Drive. I still use it to this day as my traveling computer.

I also have a Mac Mini, and an IMAC 17'. I believe the IMAC was one of the first Intel based versions. I am also in the pre buying stage for the new 17 MAC Book Pro when it's refreshed in a couple of months. Plus the new LED Monitor will be gracing my desk along with it!

Why I love them, well they are easy to use and not to mention very cool!

What I hate about them, well its not about them specifically, but with the support. In the off chance you need support be prepared. I am from the Dell world and when I had a problem, they would come to my house and fix it, usually that day. With Apple, be prepared to wait!

My hard drive crashed on my laptop and I had to wait 7 long days for it to come back. At the time I didn't have any other Macs and I had to rent a machine because I got rid of all my Dells and even if I had one, all my updated software was for OSX.

So while they are awesome machines and I would never go back, I do think their support needs a little improvement.

Now if only Skype would develop an equal to Windows or better than client for OSX I will be golden! Oh and a client for my IPHONE, then I will be really cooking - oh yeah I have an IPHONE too!
