Contact form confirmation not showing- Sporticus Battlefield template

I've seen some solutions for other templates here but not for the "Sporticus Battlefield" template.

I've seen comments about inserting the code: <jdoc:include type="message"  />

But the code for my index.php is a bit different and this fix didn't work. How can I get the standard blue bar confirmation to appear on the Battlefield template when submitting a form with the standard com_contact?

That message only appears in Joomla 1.5 and I don't believe Sporticus Battlefield is for Joomla 1.5. Are you using it in Joomla 1.0x?

I'm using 1.5 and I didn't notice that Battlefield wasn't updated. Overall the template has been working fine. Is there a workaround for the info bar to show in 1.5? Also, are there risks in using Battlefield in 1.5? Thanks

I am not entirely sure how it would work under legacy mode, you may wish to ask at http://forum.joomla.org about getting it to work in a 1.0 template
