Can you share how you did the "Best Bead Blogs" page?

i am trying to display latest post from some blog but am facing some encoding (UTF to ANSI) issues.

I used a module called SlickRSS that sits in a module position underneath an article.  Here is info on the module:

I love your site colors. I want to do the same thing with different colors. Can you tell me what program you used? Also, I noticed that the word "join" is written in script above the avata's head. I would like to know how this was done as well. Thanks in advance for the information.

I used Photoshop to create the logo and the headers on each of the modules.  All of the original PNGs are in the source files and I just took them out and altered them.  Same thing for the Join above the avatar.  I just found the original Avatar in the source files and altered it in Photoshop and reuploaded it.  Nothing too complex.
