403 Error Page
« on: April 01, 2008, 09:08:31 AM »

Is there a way to override the 403 error page, so that if a non registered member selects "submit content" it would use a page from the template stating something like, "you must be a registered member to submit content" instead of being directed to the 403 error page? Thanks for any help!

Make the submit content link only viewable by registered/ logged in members. Wink

It is, the problem is, those that aren't registered/logged in get the 403 error page. I would like to be able to bypass the error page and just have something within my own template to state, "please register" or whatever.

Timi

Glad I was able to help you out on this, although that is still a possible bug. Let me explain the situation a little bit better.

The menu is pretty simple

Menu 1

Menu 2

Menu 3

Menu 3 - Sub 1

Menu 3 - Sub 2

You get the idea...

Ok with his problem whenever he would change a menu item from public to registered it would add another

after the registered item

Well after messing around, I decided to just move the sub menu items to the end, and it seemed to work.

Now is this a bug or something in the index.php, I looked over the template pretty throughly and it seems to be in order.

Ok it works, still has the extra and
in it but it is rendering in both IE and FF just fine. I will look deeper into this mess as time continues

So Jeff, you're saying that Timi setting the User Menu to registered did not work as anticipated? Is this J1.5?
