H1 SEO issue: More than one <h1>...</h1> in page code-source?

Hello, I have read a topic about adding H1 automatically in contentheading
(here: http://www.rockettheme.com/option,com_smf/Itemid,190/topic,17735.0/- HTML & CSS question - h1 tag for titles [SOLVED] ).

That meas high probability that <H1> </H1> tag will be found more than one pear in one page code sourse.
As far as I know, it is indicated to have only one H1 pear in a page-source. You should concentrate your main keywords in that h1 tag, than make h2 tags with related heywords.
I am wrong? It's this a deprecated, not actual this tehnique?
