Delete welcome on frontpage

Hi I have tried to delete the welcome on the menu/home page with no look. How is this edited? Thanks

What specific text?  Are you using RocketLauncher or a different install?

I'm using joomla 1.0.13.  It's the heading text that says Welcome to sitename.  There is a place in parameters on the menu/home and I deleted it but I still get the heading.

Go to Admin > Menu > Mainmenu > Home > Item Titles : No

I've gone through that and - in my case - I still can't get rid of 'Welcome to the Frontpage.'

There are 2 fields in the section I mentioned to disable the title.

I too am unable to make the "Welcome to the Frontpage" text go away. I'm using Joomla 1.5. I've searched and searched and can't make it go away.

I poked all over the menu settings, global settings, article settings, you name it.

Finally solved under Joomla 1.5.
It's under Menu > Main Menu, then choose a front page menu item, edit, Parameters > System > Show Page Title.

PHEW, you need a freaking map just to find your way there!

Sweet mother of God!  I love 'Easter Eggs' but that one takes the cake!  I also found that if you want your page title to change in the browser window's title bar, you have to physically change it in that location too.  So under:

Menus > Menu Manager > In the  Main Menu row, click on this icon in the "Menu Items" column > Home > Parameters (System), I then change or delete the "Welcome to the Frontpage" text and the default title of my website 'automagically' appears.

Yes, I know it's a 'basic' tutorial, but it'd be cool if they had one for just this one thing.  It seems to confound all of us when we start using Joomla 1.5, and searching the forum took me to quite a few dead ends.  Thanks Roger for saving my sanity!  Smiley
