1) Yes, that is my understanding, create the mysql database first.

2) upload the files and folders to /public_html.

3) you input the host name, mysql username and password (password is most often the same as your hosting account password), and the database name that you had previously created and if you want the site to look exactly like the Demo, be sure at this time to choose to Install Sample Data. If I understand your question correctly.

4) You are supposed to only delete the /installation folder. Nothing else.

5) I don't understand your question - does a subdomain have an effect on what? You can install this on a subdomain if that helps.

Here is a written tutorial (http://tutorials.rockettheme.com/joomla-templates/rocket-launcher.html).

When you use rocketlauncher..for default it got install at yoursite.com/Rt_populus/ so now you must move the files to the folder public_html/ and too change to the right path inside the configuration.php

inside the rocketlauncher file you will find the RT_poplus folder...so all that is inside this folder is that must be uploaded to the public_html folder

No, you upload the content of RT_populus folder directly in public_html. Then, you access the installer via: http://www.yoursite.com

I am having a similar problem in that I upload the files via ftp succesfully and then only see the file directory, not the rocket launcher page. In my files, there is no public_html folder so I created one and then put the folders into it. There is no config.php or any other files - just the folders. http://www.toowoombaphotography.com if anyone can assist I would be really grateful. I use rocketheme alot but this is my first attempt at rocketlauncher.
Thanks!

You have no public_html folder (it depends on your server), but you should have something similar. It could be mainwebsite_html, or httpdocs. Find first this folder, then copy all content of RocketLauncher package in this folder. Type http://www.toowoombaphotography.com and you should be able to perform your installation.
