Title: Community Request - please read Post by: Andy Miller on July 28, 2006, 06:03:11 PM Hi, just wanted to say that i'm really proud of this forum and the community that has formed around the club. I am making a request that everyone try to upload an avatar image of themselves. This was a request we made on the joomla forums when we started those and i really thing it went along way to promoting a great community atmosphere. So please if you've not setup your avatar already, or even if you have and are using some image, please try to get a snapshot of yourselves and use that instead.
Thanks! Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Mike VanKirk on July 28, 2006, 06:18:24 PM You just want to see how cute we all are.... :D

Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: damo on July 30, 2006, 07:08:40 AM Hey Lorenzo
Det skulle vara skoj att se nagra av dina sidor dar du anvander RT. Hi Lorenzo (for those that don't speak Swedish) It would be nice to see some of the sites you use RT on. Cheers Damo Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Lorenzo Garcia on July 30, 2006, 07:18:57 AM Hejsan Damo! Nice to see you here ;D
I've decided to use one of the RocketTheme templates (with some modifications) for a private portal project. I have precisely started so it wont be finished until this autumn. Give me a month or so, and then I'm happy to show you. Lorenzo Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Annemarie on July 31, 2006, 11:00:29 AM Andy,

I just moved to the Gulf side of Florida recently and look at that ugly sunset I have to deal with every night. BLECH! I joined RT last week. Awesome templates and helpful community. Anyway, just thought I'd say Hi. (.....waiting for a hurricane.........) Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Shania on December 11, 2006, 05:58:51 PM sorry I wont put an avatar up of myself.
I like to keep my real life away from online. I could just download one of someone and say thats me anyway and no-one would know the difference, if you want pics that bad :P Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Paul Sewter on December 21, 2006, 06:55:33 AM I promise it really is me in there. Most of my friends(?) say it was a vast improvement over the original.
The worst thing about it was that I had to parade about in that outfit on the exact day when a new UK high temperature record was set.... phew! Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Dave Gee! on December 23, 2006, 01:13:42 PM Walt, is it true that some folks stand on the beach as a hurricane comes ashore? Don't ever have those on the west coast - or at least since I've been here.

We should be noticed... it's a great example for humanity.
Happy days and nights, Jeff Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Jukka Lamminluoto on December 27, 2006, 10:21:28 AM So.. have now played around with PhotoShop and got a nice little picture.
Best regards Jukka Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Guido Kaminiarz on January 07, 2007, 09:30:13 PM This truely is a nice community. So I am "visible" now, too.
Is there an easy programme to design those incredible collages? It looks fantastic. Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Yves on January 08, 2007, 01:43:48 AM This truely is a nice community. So I am "visible" now, too. Is there an easy programme to design those incredible collages? It looks fantastic. I did it in Photoshop. Add your images, align them as you want, finally draw the black lines, that's all. Cheers Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Guido Kaminiarz on January 08, 2007, 04:09:40 AM Simple but awesome. I like it.

Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: Genie Dethloff on January 31, 2007, 09:02:44 AM I just took the time to post a photo of me and my new buddy. Her name is Pjoska (pronounced yoska) and she is an 11 year old Norwegian Fjord mare. When my body is not cramped due to slumping over the computer, it is out in the cold Michigan air getting exercise with my new pony and loving every minute of it. It has been around 20 degrees F this week but I'd rather be out at the barn than in my house - go figure!
I want to thank everyone for their help. I am switching to Joomla so that "clients" can have a good content management system and I am trying to do as much as I can within Joomla Admin, rather than coding so I really learn its capabilities. I have been out of the website game for a few years and really barely had started my business when I put it on hold for other conflicting time constraints. My first new client is a friend and I am doing her site for free to get practice with Joomla - of course it is taking five times as long as I thought it would!! Hopefully I'll make some money some day to support my horse habit. Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: John Sanchez on January 31, 2007, 01:03:45 PM Meet my buddy: http://www.tennis-shop-wiesloch.de/catalog/images/pure-drive-team%20roddick.jpg
I have to support my tennis fix. It can get expensive. Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: James Friesen on February 08, 2007, 07:38:13 AM Hi Friends. I don't post here that much but I love reading the forums. I am in the beginning stages of launching a web design business after 3 years working as an in-house webmaster and my first project using an RT theme (pixel-perfect) was such a success (from my humble point of view - www.woodstockbikes.com (http://www.woodstockbikes.com)) that I'm sure I'll be back here for more templates.
I love the idea of posting actual photos since the virtual world can be so impersonal. The organization that I currently work for is very international so I often have to work with people remotely on the other side of the world. If I have met them and know what they look like, for some reason it just makes a huge difference over just talking to a "voice" or emailing with an "email address". So thanks Andy for suggesting this and for helping create such a great community. I agree with what some of the others have said... everyone is just so friendly! I can't stand most forums cuz all da punks talkin like dis.. u no wht i mean? Its nice working with professionals, to say the least. Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: John Sanchez on February 08, 2007, 10:34:43 AM Hey James!
Have fun with your web design business. If your current site is any indication, you'll do just fine. I completely agree with your comment about having a picture to match a face. I don't interact face to face with any of my customers, so I never really get to know them. I think I know some of you all better than I know some of my customers! It's nice to have a spot to get answers from people who are professional, but not stuffy. Title: Re: Community Request - please read Post by: David York on March 02, 2007, 08:50:06 AM Thought I might as well join the club since, you know, I'm already a member of the club.
