Title: Soliciting Testimonials, interested?
Post by: Andy Miller on April 11, 2006, 02:31:41 PM
Valued club members, I'm soliciting testimonials from happy template club members.  I'm going to be creating a Testimonial section on the site that will contains 1-3 paragraph quotes with member names (if you want) and URLs (if you want), and possibly screenshots.  This of course helps me out but also may help you out with a link from my site (PR7) to yours.

Please reply, or PM me if you are interested.

Cheers,

Andy

I was looking over many web pages with templates, but one had anything like Rockettheme. In Czech Republic we look differently on spending 50 or 75$, but now I can say, it was worth it. Your templates are super truper  ;D Thank you very much.

PS: I am looking forward every month to see somenthing new, something better.

Here's mine:

As a side business, I build websites for various kinds of clubs and societies. I discovered Mambo - ultimately Joomla,  and that has made things so much easier. But the real gold was when I found Andy at RocketTheme and joined the Template Club.  Now, I have risen to the top of the heap in web design for clubs and societies here in my area. I'm looking forward to renewing my membership and signing up for the Pro Membership plan. I really hope that others in my area don't find out about RocketTheme! I feel like I've struck gold and want to keep it all for myself. Thanks, RocketTheme. Andy and RocketTheme have made me look very good! -Dave Goodwin

Edit it as you like, Andy.

Hi Andy, I would love to help. I have put my testimonial below for you. If you could also link to my site that would be fantastic.

"I found Joomla and released what a fantastic content management system it is. I was however annoyed at the lack of professional templates that were available, that was until I found Rocket Theme. I have been a member now for the past 3 months and had a fantastic theme running on my website which has changed significantly because of Rocket Theme. Each month you get fantastic new templates that use advanced features and styles that are not available anywhere else. Along with the fantastic templates there is also a great community that helps you with any problems or questions you have with either Joomla or a specific template. Since I have joined and implemented one of the themes my site has tripped in traffic and the number of repeat users coming back just goes to show how much they like the look and feel of it."

My member name is Nicholas Flood

Please feel free to take a screenshot of my site and a link would be great http://www.ukhdtv.net

Here's mine:
When I first heard about Joomla! CMS Portal I was quite amazed and started to use it for all my futured sites.
Everything was going great but all the free templates I used were so boring that not one visitor would come back.
When someone told me about Rocket Theme I looked into it and bought subscription immediatly... for only one Template.
Then I realised that some other templates were also perfect for my other sites. All Rocket Theme Templates are great!
I've been here for only 2 months but all the new releases never let me down! I now use Rocket Theme Templates for all my websites! I even got awarded for the Dreamhost Site of the Month (March) for having such a nice site along with the Template! I now thank Rocket Theme forever for making my first (web related) dreams come!

In creating my Web pages in HTML format, I first used another company's services. However, after much thought I decided to change to CMS and chose Joomla!. Since generaly speaking, template support is rather unsatisfactory, I decided to seek professional template support. On the Joomla! Web pages I found out that their template was developped by RocketTheme (JamboWorks).  By looking through the offer and comparing it to other offers on the Internet, I came to the conclusion that RocketTheme has the best high-quality templates for Joomla! to be found. I have been using one template on my site for some time already, but  nevertheless I look forward to what each new month might bring. The high-quality and possibilities which each new template brings are constantly improving and expanding. Appart from that, excellent user support desrves the highest praise...

Edit it as you like, Andy.

My True Story

"RocketTheme, I have a confession to make. When I joined in as a member, I was not sure if I should become a member or not and was confused between you and your other competitor at that time. Inadvertently thinking that I am signing up for your competitor, I actually signed up for you guys. Yes, in other words, I did not mean to be a full time member but thinking that I am signing up for your competitor, I signed up for you. And when I realised I was like, "What have I done !!".....But now, seven months after being a full memeber, I DO NOT regret at all making that mistake...Infact when I look at your competitors, you are far ahead of all of them."

Yes, We'd be interested,

We became a member just two or three months ago after looking at several hundred, (or more), templates from a variety of designers.  95% of those templates I wouldn't attempt to work with mainly because of usability issures and sloppy CSS, (and a sizable number of them were ugly beyond description!)

Since our business has 5 active domains, RocketTheme Club is a real bargin.  So far, we've worked with 3 of the templates: Internet Gazzett, Aphelion and we just changed http://www.websiterevamp.org  to the new Versitility template - What a great piece of work!  It's light, (we timed it on a dial-up at 12 seconds), easy to configure and even the CSS is done well.

We have two domains converted to Joomla and Rockettheme and I suspect the other three will go the same way.  We are encouraging our web clients who are interested in a Joomla WebsiteRevamp to become members of the club as well so they can pick and choose and get a better understanding of what we can do for them.  (Once they've visited the forum, they'll have no inclination to "DIY!"

The best part of being a member is that YOU stand behind your work and have a very active forum - That's helped us on several occasions.  Keep up the good work!

------------

A bit of history:  I looked at Mambo 2 yrs. ago -- it was far from ready for "prime time."  Looked again early last year, more promising, but still too many rough edges, (and ugly templates.)  Finally, we decided to take the plunge in Jan. '06. and by Feb. 22 with a lot of mid-night oil between several of our group, we launched a client site:  www.ruthberger.com.  Sorry, that first one used an Arthur Konze template, one of the very few others I might buy a template from.

Cheers,

Andy

After some deliberation (cost wise) i felt that the quality of the themes was well worth the small amount of money. RocketTheme is the best i have seen and it just keeps getting better!"

I sent this via email on Sept. 9, 2006 to Andy. Not sure if he ever got it. Here it is again:

About 6 months ago at the end of March 2006 , I came across the Joomla Content Management System (CMS). After fumbling around a bit, I found some decent templates from various sites because I didn't like the default look of Joomla. But no matter which template I tried, it just didn't have the right "feel" to it. That is, I never felt like these templates were a reflection of me. I bought the Joomlashack templates but found it lacking, and that's when I decided to take the plunge and buy a 1-year membership to RocketTheme. I knew that since I'm so finicky and such a perfectionist that I would quickly become tired and switch templates frequently. But still $75 for a year seemed a bit much. What if I didn't like these RocketTheme templates? Well, one month into my year-long membership I can say with confidence that the $75 was some of the best money I have ever spent.

With each new template that Andy releases comes a renewed sense of awe and excitement for me. How is it possible that he keeps coming up with such unique and eye-catching designs? I guess only the design gods can answer that question. I am so ecstatic to have found the RocketTheme templates. And as an added bonus, the RocketTheme support forum is first-class. I've found myself completely engrossed in its daily news, updates, and gems of useful information. In fact, it was through the forum that I met the gentleman from Denmark who designed the logo for my website, www.stevenguyenonline.com.

People ask me how I was able to get my site to look "like that". They seem so impressed at my ability to design something that beautiful. I just smile and say it was a lot of hard work. But if they keep asking then I'll finally confess and say it was RocketTheme! Oh, the agony of a confession. That's ok, I'll get over it. =)

To Andy and the staff at RocketTheme, thank you. I have found an online home for my Joomla needs.

Yes, that is one of Phil Taylor's components -- http://www.phil-taylor.com/  be forewarned, it will add about 60k of overhead - Ajax and all that stuff - I'm about 3 updates behind, so it may be trimmed down by now.  Phil is real good about supporting his stuff, and his stuff is generally good in the first place.

Well, I just renewed here, which means I have been a member for one year already.
I've been a user of mambo for two years before Joomla! was formed a year ago.
(Was one of the first 900 members on the Joomla! forums. ;) )

I must say, Rocket Theme is the Best Joomla Template Club out there.

And the reasons are :
1. Fabulous Designs - needs no proof.
2. Great Support - visit the forum.
3. A Bargain at $75 - 3 sites for $25 / site / yr
                           - change designs as many times as you want!
                           - most commercial templates cost $30/site! (you do the math)

Joomla is a very powerful and flexible CMS, but without a high-quality template, a Joomla site just blends in with the rest. That's where Rocket Theme comes in, providing Joomla-ers with professional-grade themes at a reasonable price, and without Rocket Theme, Game-Spectrum.com would not be where it is today! Thank you RT!

Title: Re: Soliciting Testimonials, interested?

I believe my post in Water Cooler is just as relavent here  ;D

Why did you choose Rocket Theme over any other Joomla! template club or business?

I believe that Rocket Theme has something unique about it which is absent from all other template clubs. All template clubs have Joomla! templates  :P but I find that RT offers something different. All templates from RT are completely unique and never really fit the pattern of a previous template. Therefore, when a new template comes out, it truely is a "new" template, not a remake of an old one. When browsing some other clubs, I always thought to myself, "Yeah, some good templates, but they all look very similar with an almost identical structure" (I always think this about Joomlart!)

Probably the most important aspect of RT, in my views, which make it better than the rest, is the Community. Everyone is incredibly friendly and so helpful. Just scan through the forums and you will always see members helping someone else, or just making general chit chat. I am also shocked to see that the "Boss People"  :D play as much as an active role in the forums as any member. There just appears to be a strong lattice within these forums that creates a very warm and opening atmosphere. I never see members getting frustated, even if the same question has been asked 100 times again.

I am extremely judgmental (character flaw  :D ) and I will, even though I probably shouldn't, a template club or similar business by the website they have. If they are going to sell you something, their best work should be their own, purposely built for them. I found this lacking on other sites. RT is different, as we all know, it has a structure that is separate from any other. I believe this is due to Andy's abilites to not conform to the general, default structure of a typical Joomla! website. Everything is easily accessibly from the main page without clutter becoming a major problem. It has a presence of being something better!

The last point that I can think of, which to some may be the most important, is the value for money. For a relatively cheap price, you can have access to the best templates on the market. I would have thought that RT templates would have been more expensive but was shocked to see the actual price!

I repeat my intial statement, Why did you choose RT over any other? - What makes it better for you?

And to Conclude...

Rocket Theme OWNS  :D

Hi Andy

I've spent quite a time with building up pages until I came up to Joomla!. Well, I played arround a bit and tried several templates because I wanted to bring my existing page into Joomla! Unfortunately most, if not all, free templates are quite restricted, if you have some more ideas in mind than just the average few pages on a site. When I started to search for more advanced templates in the net, I've checked really a lot of them, especially in case of functionality and diversity, until I came up to Rocket Themes. I realised, that your templates include all (ord most) the functionality one needs to build up a big site which can be extended in very many ways. My converted page is not published, because I'm still working on it, but it will be within the near future...
But after doing some work with it, I can say: Great work, especially very professionally made with a lot of thinking in it (sorry my english).

Cheers from Zürich, Switzerland

RocketTheme is by far the leading site for Joomla templates on the web. The quality of Andy Miller's designs are unmatched. Another template site recently sent me a survey offering a 30% discount and asking how to improve their product. The last question asked about other templates I used to which I responded Andy Miller's RocketTheme because nothing else compares and the other site never will. Since nothing compares to RocketTheme's templates I did not find anything to use my discount for or any reason to change my sourse for templates form RocketTheme. Why pay even a discount for anything but the very best templates? In my book that means RocketTheme or nothing. There is a reason that Joomla continues to feature a sample theme developed by Andy with every release and his designs are found on most of the major Joomla sites because Andy Miller's RocketTheme can not be beat.

Developing sites for nonporfits I am known for being extremely conservative about what I will invest in. It has never been a question about investing in or the quality of a RocketTheme templates. RocketTheme's templates and modules always impress my customers. My clients' web sites image is always a reflection on me. Without Andy's work my customer satisfaction level would not be what it is. I have appreciated Andy's support, his willingness to give a template to LADR's Katrina Response site and the fact that each year I can use his templates on more sites for same reasonable cost. There are some things in web design I would never pay for, however, RocketThemes are worth the investment. I have been using RocketTheme for two years and will be renewing early and annually. I'm looking forward to adding a RocketTheme to my own new site this fall W Shealy's Place (http://www.wshealy.org).

With RocketTheme I know I will always have my choice of the best qualiity templates with the most inovative up to date design elements from menu to modules.

After learning about Joomla from a friend, I fast became hooked as they say.  The last five sites that I have created have been Joomla sites...But Hey! this isn't a testimonial to Joomla, this is a testimonial for the fantastic Rocket Themes Joomla Templates.
What can I say...My last three sites have used Rocket Theme templates, Simplix, Replicant, Colourmatic, and I have converted another now to Shocktrooper.  Every month sees a new and exciting template, and every month on the dot, Im there on the 1st checking out the latest release.  Rocket Themes aren't just about the templates though, WE are a community, with an excellent and always helpful forum base you can't go wrong.  In fact, I enjoy the forums so much that I often try to help if I can...and thats when I should be doing other more "ahem" paid for work ;-)  Keep up the great work RT Team.

You may o not understand Spanish, but I'm sure many of your club members and prospects does, and they will love to fully understand a testimonial, so I'll have the first Spanish comment for you:

I develop sites mostly for non-profit organizations in my spare time. I have searched far and wide and have not found any match for the RocketTheme templates in either value or functionality. The templates are top-notch and the value-added components like RokZoom, RokSlideshow, etc really make it easy to develop an impressive looking site in a minimal amount of time. Every site I have done since coming to RocketTheme has received the highest marks both from my clients and my client's clients.

This is my first post to the forums, and as a satisfied customer I am glad to write my testimonial:

I am a small company owner and not a professional website designer. Even though I am a complete beginner in building and designing web sites, I wanted to create and administer my site on my own. After being fascinated with Joomla CMS, and its ease of use I was looking for great looking and easy to customize templates for my company's website. The reason I became RocketTheme customer was amazing design of all templates and lots of built in features. Only after purchasing the subscription I discovered extremely well written documentation and great forum support. Every issue that I had (and there were only a few) was already answered either in documentation or in forums. I would sincerely recommend RocketTheme templates to all Joomla users, and especially to beginners.

My name is Zlatko Svetic, and I come from Croatia.

A link to my site www.odmah.hr would be extremely appreciated

Sincerely Yours,
Zlatko Svetic

Not only are the templates of an exceptionally high standard but the support from the team is unmatched, I have used Rocket Theme templates and find it difficult to change them! Quite simply, the design and colours are fantastic as sold. Why purchase a Leonardo Da Vinci  and paint over the top! Great work!

I discovered JOOMLA by accident und was really impressed. The free themes found on the web are generally not of very high quality, so I searched for alternatives. Saw a lot of stuff, but RocketTheme are by far the best. Very professional stuff and good help in the forum. What else could I want?

I know this is a very old post, but I haven't been on in a while and I usually am looking for something specific and don't browse, but this time I decided to look around the forums before diving in.

I never dreamed that I would have so much fun developing a website.  I really started this project out of necessity.  I could not afford to pay someone to do what I have been able to do with Joomla! and RocketTheme... and for next to nothing!  I actually went a bit nuts at first wanting to do a website for everyone in my family.  Joomla! made it easy.  RocketTheme makes it look spectacular!  Any time I have wanted to customize for just the right look with my content, I have either found the answer already in the forum or got an answer within hours.

Thank you for pointing that out.  I am kinda proud of the Rokflow work on his site, so I thought I would show it off.   ;)  It still looks a little crappy in IE6, but I gave up on it.  It was a difficult time getting his login to work and the png fix all at the same time in IE6.  And the taxidermy looks great with the Dimensions wood theme.   8)

You would be surprised how many people never update their browser.  I thought about putting on some kind of disclaimer and a link to download Firefox!  I LOVE 3.0!!!  And now we have Firebug in 3.0 too!  :)

but with ie8 in the works, it will be add to resist upgrading to FF3 or ie8. IE7 is somehow subsytandard, and hopefully, the bar will be raised with both new releases. We'll see...
