Tachyon, the February 2011 release, is the perfect template for social networking, with its elegant design and structure, in conjunction with styled integrated for popular social extensions, such as JomSocial, and Community Builder.
The theme also features the new RokMiniEvents module, which syncs events with your Google Calendar, or those within JomSocial itself, and also debuts the new Splicemenu menu option, a dynamic dropline navigation system powered by Mootools; as well as the standard array of features.
NOTICE: Tachyon is a Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5 Template.

RokMiniEvents is a brand new module for Tachyon, which syncs with your Google Calendar events and displays them on your site. The module is very intuitive, automatically adjusting itself based on your events and event ranges; simply set the number of events and the time range, and RokMiniEvents will do the rest. The module also has support for JomSocial Events, RSEvents, JEvents and EventList.

A Mootools powered dropline menu, displaying 1st menu items in the header, and 2nd menu items in a horizontal bar underneath. This bar displays dynamically on hover, via javascript, and all subsequent children load in the sidebar.

Installation - Joomla 1.5
Downloading the Template Files
To install the template, you need one of the following files:-
- Template (Standalone) rt_tachyon_j15.tgz - Standalone template file.
- Template (Bundle) rt_tachyon_j15-bundle.tar.gz - Template plus Gantry Component.
- RokNavMenu rt_tachyon_j15-extensions.zip(unzip first) or mod_roknavmenu.zip - Required for the menu to work..
Note: The Bundle Template is only necessary if the Gantry Library is not installed at /components/com_gantry.
There are other files that you may wish to download that accompany the release, but are not required for the template to work.
- Source PNG(s) rt_tachyon_j15-sources.zip - Adobe® Fireworks PNG source file(s) and any applicable fonts.
- Extensions rt_tachyon_j15-extensions.zip - All extensions for the template.
- RocketLauncher rt_tachyon_j15-rocketlauncher.zip - Demo replica installer.
The latest extensions can be downloaded from the Extensions Download area located here Using the Joomla Installer
From the Menu in your Joomla Administrator, go to Extensions → Install/Uninstall.
Next, browse for the rt_tachyon_j15.tgz or rt_tachyon_j15-bundle.tar.gz file that you downloaded earlier and then click Upload File & Install.
Making Tachyon the Default
Next, go to Extensions → Template Manager. Find rt_tachyon_j15 on the list of installed templates.
Select the radio button to the left and then click Default up in the top right corner. Tachyon is now your default template.
Additionally, you can also edit the template's customization parameters by selecting this same radio button and clicking the "Edit" button in the top right corner.
