SporticusJanuary 2007 Joomla Template

Sporticus Our RT members asked for a Sports Themed Joomla! Template, so that’s exactly what we delivered. This month we created a Sports/News design using design principles from our two most popular templates: InternetGazette and Versatility II to produce the ideal template for this genre.

The design is based around 64 color customisation to provide maximum flexibility in design. This allows you to create to site to match the appropriate color scheme of your particular sport/club/team with a few configuration adjustments.

The exclusive RocketTheme menu systems in this template use the mainmenu by default and this menu is configured in the administrator. For these to function correctly, understand that the ‘top level’ menu items will show up as the horizontal buttons across the top of the template. For sub menu items, assign Parent Item to these top menus to the top-level item. These will then show up below in a sub-horizontal menu when you click on a top-level item.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Splitmenu and how do I set it up?
The venerable SplitMenu is a solid choice for navigation. It works by rendering the top-level menu options horizontally, and the submenu/child items are rendered in a module on the side. More Details...
What is the Slimbox and how do I set it up?
There's a very popular JavaScript out there called Lightbox JS 2.0. It's a great way to show off images and create impromptu photo galleries. The only problem is that it's heavy and dramatically degrades the performance of your website. Fortunately there's a fantastic 'clone' called Slimbox that utilizes the great mootools JavaScript library to produce the same effect but with far less JavaScript, and advanced loading techniques that subsequently produces faster loading and more responsive pages. Sporticus fully integrates the JavaScript and the CSS so all you have to do to utilize this technique is an an extra element to your image link. More Details...
What is RT Login and how do I set it up?
Often there's a need for a nice clean login module to complete the new professional site you are working on. However, the default Joomla! login module uses some ugly tables and you can't turn of certain things to get that svelte look you want so badly. RocketTheme has created a modified version of the default Joomla! login module built to fill this need and you can see it in action at the very top of this demo. You will want to read the demo tutorial located at the Custom Modules page - the tutorial covers what the settings the module has and how to configure/use it. More Details...
