ReactionReaction, the December 2009 Club Template release, is the proud pioneer of the brand new Gantry Framework, a powerful construct that will be the firm foundation of all new templates to come. Gantry offers many great features, the most noticeable being the 960 grid layout, and the complex and intuitive administrative interface.

Alongside the new Gantry core, are many other features that are now synonymous with RocketTheme template releases such as the varying graphic detail options for each style variation, functional menus and integrated styling for a wide range of extensions.

Gantry Framework

The most noticeable feature of Reaction is most certainly its incorporation of the new Gantry Framework. Gantry is, as a basic definition, A framework used for assembling, building and maintaining a RocketTheme template. It is an advanced platform for dramatically extending the capabilities of the entire theming system of Joomla.

Reaction is now running Gantry 2.0, please update if not already.

6 Styles, 18 Combinations!

An important aspect of Reaction is its design, and has 6 unique style variations in 18 combinations. Each preset style has 3 background levels: Low, Medium & High, which represent different levels of detailing. Therefore, with a simple parameter switch, you can pivotally change the theme from a conservative to a vibrant design. More Details...

Fusion Menu

Fusion is javascript-based dropdown menu system, with extensive functionality. The menu itself is built on the rewritten core of the latest revision of RokNavMenu, the core application behind all RocketTheme menus.

Fusion offers a series of new abilities ranging from Menu Icons, Subtext support and much greater controls over the Multiple Column ability for dropdowns. More Details...

Installation - Joomla 1.5


Downloading the Template Files

To install the template, you need either one of the following files:-

  • Reaction Template rt_reaction_j15.tgz - This is the template file that you use to install into Joomla.

There are other files that you may wish to download that accompany the release, but are not required for the template to work.

  • Reaction Source PNG(s) reaction-sources.zip - This contains all the Adobe Fireworks PNG source files for the template, and if applicable, the logo font.
  • Reaction Extensions reaction-extensions-j15.zip - This package contains all the extensions that accompany the template release.
  • Reaction RocketLauncher Joomla_RT_Reaction_j15.zip - The RocketLauncher pack is a full Joomla install that contains all the demo content, including extensions and the template.

Using the Joomla Installer

From the Menu in your Joomla Administrator, go to Extensions → Install/Uninstall.

Next, browse for your rt_ reaction_j15.tgz file you downloaded and then click Upload File & Install.

Making Reaction the Default

installationNext, go to Extensions → Template Manager. Find rt_ reaction_j15 on the list of installed templates.

Select the radio button to the left and then click Default up in the top right corner. Reaction is now your default template.

Additionally, you can also edit the template's customization parameters by selecting this same radio button and clicking the "Edit" button in the top right corner.

Reaction has 6 themes: Style 1 - Style 6. These variations are all quite unique with their own individual background images and styling. What is Fusion Menu?
Fusion is effectively a dropdown menu which combines the former RokMoomenu and Suckerfish systems into one, offering both a javascript enhanced and basic, simple dropdown modes.
