The theme has a plethora of features beyond its stylistic exterior. The core is composed of the Gantry Framework, offering a mature and feature rich foundation for many advanced, flexible and versatile functions to make the template extremely usable, modern and engaging.

NOTICE: Juxta has limited support for IE6. The primary restrictions are placed on the preset settings (only low is available), the menu (fusion menu is replaced with suckerfish) and RTL support is not present.

Gantry Framework

Juxta is the built with the Gantry Framework, which includes powerful features such as menu item control, RTL support, custom presets and many more. This is all on top of the first generation features, making Gantry the most noticeable, and far reaching feature of the template.

Gantry is, as a basic definition, A framework used for assembling, building and maintaining a RocketTheme template. It is an advanced platform for dramatically extending the capabilities of the entire theming system of Joomla.

NOTICE: The latest version of RokNavMenu is required for the Juxta Menu to work.

RTL Support

Template side RTL support from the Fusion menu to the Typography. This is in conjunction with Gantry's RTL support for the automatic flipping of the grid system.

If Joomla is set to RTL mode, in its language settings, the Juxta template will automatically adjust to its RTL layout. The modules will invert inside a row, such as showcase-a and showcase-f being in alternate locations; the various template elements such as the breadcrumbs and typography will also flip; and also the menu will adjust accordingly (ensure you are using the latest version of RokNavMenu however).

Installation - Joomla 1.5


Downloading the Template Files

To install the template, you need one of the following files:-

  • Juxta Template (Standalone) rt_juxta_j15.tgz - This is the standalone template file that you use to install into Joomla.
  • Juxta Template (Bundle) rt_juxta_j15-bundle.tar.gz - This is the bundle package, containing the template and Gantry library files, that you use to install into Joomla.
  • RokNavMenu rt_juxta_j15-extensions.zip or mod_roknavmenu.zip - This is required for the menu to work, either download from the extensions package in the Juxta download section or from the RokNavMenu download area itself.
Only use the Bundle package on a clean install, or on an install that does NOT have the Gantry library already installed - /components/com_gantry. Use the standalone package if the Gantry library is already present.

There are other files that you may wish to download that accompany the release, but are not required for the template to work.

  • Juxta Source PNG(s) rt_juxta_j15-sources.zip - This contains all the Adobe Fireworks PNG source files for the template, and if applicable, the logo font.
  • Juxta Extensions rt_juxta_j15-extensions.zip - This package contains all the extensions that accompany the template release.
  • Juxta RocketLauncher rt_juxta_j15-rocketlauncher.zip - The RocketLauncher pack is a full Joomla install that contains all the demo content, including extensions and the template.

Using the Joomla Installer

From the Menu in your Joomla Administrator, go to Extensions → Install/Uninstall.

Next, browse for the rt_juxta_j15.tgz or rt_juxta_j15-bundle.tar.gz file that you downloaded earlier and then click Upload File & Install.

Making Juxta the Default

installationNext, go to Extensions → Template Manager. Find rt_juxta_j15 on the list of installed templates.

Select the radio button to the left and then click Default up in the top right corner. Juxta is now your default template.

Additionally, you can also edit the template's customization parameters by selecting this same radio button and clicking the "Edit" button in the top right corner.
