Installation - Joomla 1.5


Downloading the Template Files

  • Hyperion Template (rt_hyperion_j15.tgz) This file is the template package you will use to install Hyperion into Joomla.
  • Hyperion Custom Extensions (hyperion-extensions-j15.zip) This package contains each of the individual custom extensions included in the Hyperion template release.
  • Hyperion Source PNG's (hyperion-sources.zip) This package contains the Adobe Fireworks source png's for making modifications and customizations to the images in the template. You will need Adobe Fireworks image editing to fully utilize the Source PNG files.

Using the Joomla Installer

From the Menu in your Joomla Administrator, go to Extensions → Install/Uninstall.

Next, browse for your rt_hyperion_j15.tgz file you downloaded and then click Upload File & Install.

Making Hyperion the Default

installationNext, go to Extensions → Template Manager. Find rt_hyperion_j15 on the list of installed templates.

Select the radio button to the left and then click Default up in the top right corner. Hyperion is now your default template.

Additionally, you can also edit the template's customization parameters by selecting this same radio button and clicking the "Edit" button in the top right corner.

Using the Joomla Installer

installationGo to your Admin control panel for your site. In the Menu at the top, go to Installers > Templates - Site.

Next browse for your rt_hyperion.tgz file you downloaded and then click Upload File & Install. Now Hyperion is installed and in your template list. You should observe an introductory page in which you select Continue.

Making Hyperion the Default

installationNext, from your admin control panel, go to Site > Template Manager > Site Templates. This will pull up the list of your installed templates.

Find Hyperion on the list and select the radio button to the left and then click Default up in the top right corner. Hyperion will now be the default template.

How do I setup the Top & Bottom menus?
For the top menu, you will need t use the following settings in Admin > Modules > Site Modules > Top Menu (or whatever menu you wish to use) :-
  • Position: icon
  • Menu Style: Flat List
  • Show Menu Icons: Yes
  • Menu Icon Alignment: Left

For the bottom menu, you will need t use the following settings in Admin > Modules > Site Modules > Other Menu (or whatever menu you wish to use) :-
  • Position: footer
  • Menu Class Suffix: -bottom
  • Menu Style: Flat List
Note that -bottom is not a module class suffix but a Menu class suffix.
