The New RokHeadRotator Module

RokHeadRotator is a new custom mootools image rotator that displays your images in a beautiful crossblending fashion. The RokHeadRotator also includes small buttons allowing your visitors to toggle through the different images or pause the display. See it in action on the home page of the demo.

Installation - Joomla 1.5


Downloading the Template Files

  • HiveMind Template (rt_hivemind_j15.tgz) This file is the template package you will use to install HiveMind into Joomla.
  • HiveMind Custom Extensions (hivemind-extensions-j15.zip) This package contains each of the individual custom extensions included in the HiveMind template release.
  • HiveMind Source PNG's (hivemind-sources.zip) This package contains the Adobe Fireworks source png's for making modifications and customizations to the images in the template. You will need Adobe Fireworks image editing to fully utilize the Source PNG files.

Using the Joomla Installer

From the Menu in your Joomla Administrator, go to Extensions → Install/Uninstall.

Next, browse for your rt_hivemind_j15.tgz file you downloaded and then click Upload File & Install.

Making HiveMind the Default

installationNext, go to Extensions → Template Manager. Find rt_hivemind_j15 on the list of installed templates.

Select the radio button to the left and then click Default up in the top right corner. HiveMind is now your default template.

Additionally, you can also edit the template's customization parameters by selecting this same radio button and clicking the "Edit" button in the top right corner.

Using the Joomla Installer

installationGo to your Admin control panel for your site. In the Menu at the top, go to Installers > Templates - Site.

Next browse for your rt_hivemind.tgz file you downloaded and then click Upload File & Install. Now HiveMind is installed and in your template list. You should observe an introductory page in which you select Continue.

Making HiveMind the Default

installationNext, from your admin control panel, go to Site > Template Manager > Site Templates. This will pull up the list of your installed templates.

Find HiveMind on the list and select the radio button to the left and then click Default up in the top right corner. HiveMind will now be the default template.

How do I setup the styled search module?
HiveMind features special styling for the search module which can be seen in the right column of this demo. To activate this on your site, just publish the search module into the "Search" module position. The template's styling will then take over and display it as seen in the demo. (By default, Joomla does not include this module position, so it must be created in the Joomla admin by going to Site > Template Manager > Module Positions and in the first available "empty" module position fields, type in the name "search". Next, click Save in the top right corner.)
