I have used Akeeba to upload local site to live host. That was fine but I am confused about how maintaining the site will work. In the short term there will be a lot of new content updating and I am not confident doing this on a live site. I was planning to use Akeeba backup in the following way – 1. make backup of live site/database 2. copy to local wampserver 3. Do changes 4. backup local site/database and ftp to live site. Is it sensible to use Akeeba backup for this or is there a better way? What confuses me about this method is - do I have to use Kickstart on both live and local sites and is it necessary to keep changing the database name or can it be overwritten?
I would appreciate any advice.
Then you downloading site on localhost and doing changes and uploading back up what would happened to data in the mean time on the live server users posts something this will get erased when you upload the new version ....
