SOLVED Unable to switch default Admin template from MissionControl

  • SOLVED Unable to switch default Admin template from MissionControl

Posted 9 years 3 weeks ago
    • Greetings!

I have been using MC for some time - but now I cannot get the Admin template to switch from MC to Bluestork. I am getting ready to migrate to J3.4 and need to delete MissionControl. I have tried to disable the plugin but without the template switching, I just get the blank white screen.

I have updated my frontend template from Radiance to Chimera and updated Gantry. Also, I now notice the overrides are no longer working in MC as well.

Here is the url - it is a dev location: 23.235.206.133/~becht/
      Currently operating Joomla 2.5.28.

I need to get moving on this update so any help would be appreciated.

I will PM you backend access should you require.

      Thanks,

      Randy

The proper sequence is choose BlueStork as Default first. Next go to the Plugin Manager screen and Disable the System - MissionControl Support plugin. Then onto Extension Manager -> Manage -> enter Mission into the Search box and then click all the Mission Control results and choose to Uninstall.

So you have to re-enable the System - MissionControl Support plugin to follow that sequence. Open your PhPMyAdmin console and SEARCH for "MissionControl" and set the Enabled value to "1". This should remove the blank screen.

    • Hey Dan, thanks for the reply.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. Previous to this Becht instance, I had migrated another site to 3.x and got bitten by this MC bug. I have read all the posts back and forth with MrT and others in the Joomla forum. I get that you need to do these things in a specific order...BUT...

I cannot switch from MC to Bluestork.

I have designated the default Admin template as Bluestork but the template DOES NOT SWITCH! The login screen comes up BS but then, upon getting to the Admin-index/Site Dashboard it presents with MC. I have cleared all the caches.
I have checked in phpMyAdmin to ensure the default is BS -- and it is. Thru phpMyAdmin I have tried to disable the plugin when BS is enabled and all I get is the white screen. I have removed the 'multiple template' plugin - that didn't work either. I have unpubbed the 3 modules relating to MC - that didn't work.

I think you're going to need to look at it. It may have something to do with the Radiance template and the Gantry updating when I switched to Chimera. If you recall, Radiance was not updated to be responsive and hence was stuck to use an older version of Gantry.

      Thanks,
      Randy

Sure. Would you please create a Super Admin login for me along with FTP access info and place it in the SECURE part of your Reply

    • Hey Dan - many thanks!

Now for the benefit of others (and me in particular since I have about 10 more sites to migrate all of which are using MC), what did you need to do to allow the change of Admin templates. What was hanging up?

and...I guess now I can remove the MC system plugin now (I see you removed the MC Template) and the modules for User Stats, Audit Trail and Chart. I need to manually remove the database tables for the Audit and Users, correct?
