    • Hi I'm trying to swap the skin from Hive Mind (which seems to be pre Gantry framework) to Momentum (Gantry framework) and its proving quite difficult as the look of the site is not presenting correctly with lots of missing content.

Please can you provide instructions on how to do this?

      Thanks,
      Sean

      hi there,

the thing is, that hivemind and momentum have different module positions.
so a lot of your modules wont show in momentum until you reassign the module positions.
for example anything in 'left' position should go into sidebar-a now, anything in 'right' position into sidebar-b, etc.

      hope this helps.

      kat :)

    • If I was to overwrite the files by using FTP, and then go to the Joomla! extension manager and do "discover" would that work to keep all of my settings? Or would that still cause a huge mess? Having those settings is sometimes quite time consuming.

Also this link is broken, which I found on this thread

    • DON'T UNINSTALL an extension or template first. Keep it there and just install the update version over it.

As long as you just install the new one, you'll keep your settings. Its when you uninstall first that everything is deleted.

    • Can someone add the information at the beginning of this post either that it will delete all settings or else remove the reference to uninstall.

It would also be helpful to have a reference to the database entry so that we could replace that after an upgrade.
