Annotator Pro WP plugin stopped working, they claim it's a theme issue

Posted 7 years 1 month ago
    • Hi, one of our clients websites uses a plugin called Annotator Pro ( codecanyon.net/item/annotator-pro-wp-ima...tips-zooming/9840173 & webcraftplugins.com/ ).

It basically as the name suggests, adds interactive annotations to images or maps. This was working fine but recently stopped working. Upon contacting the plugin developer they say it's a Rocket Theme issue which I somewhat struggle to see. The theme hasn't been updated in over 6 months as far as I'm aware.

One of the pages affected can be seen here: acr.org.uk/warehouses/

That large warehouse image at the top should have annotations on it and has done up until this last week or so as far as I'm aware.

This is the error that displays in the console:
Uncaught TypeError: $(...).annotatorPro is not a function

The plugin devs said "The plugin will do that automatically, but it's up to your theme to provide the "hooks" for plugins to include their scripts to the page. I suggest contacting the authors of the theme about issues like this one." as I suggested to them that the plugin should include the script automatically.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this or how it could be fixed? Any help is appreciated.

      Regards

    • Hi, thanks for your reply. The site is backed up and there's been no changes I'm aware of to the gantry files.

    • Hi,

It seems to be working now so I assume you did something to it i.e. updated? Thanks if so and I'd appreciate any further explanation if possible to prevent this potentially occurring in the future.

    • False alarm, it was working for a short while seemingly but refreshing the cache revealed it to be broken again.
