Hello,
I am wondering if there is any existing extension in Rocket theme that can be used to create a popup modal window for announcement?
Ideally the popup can be full HTML including video, at least pictures.

Rokbox is our popup modal extension. But that has to be triggered by a click on something. If you want an "automatic" modal popup when you visit your site then have a look on JED for a suitable extension - there are plenty on there.

There's loads on JED so it really does depend on what you want - they're known as splash panels. Here' just one I found
