Particle Content from Joomla not possible?

Hey guys,
just wondering: do the gantry particles not allow joomla as a content source?
It's really annoying that even the newsfeed or newsticker particles cannot display articles from the joomla article database.
Roksprocket wasn't limited in this way.
Or am I missing something here?

Yes they allow but not all of them, but you can always add this in your self see here:
docs.gantry.org/gantry5/advanced/content-in-particles - Available for CUSTOM WORK with Joomla, WordPress and Grav Templates and Gantry Framework!

Thanks for the info. That's a huge step backwards from where I am sitting. News Ticker and News Slider would be awesome if you could select content from joomla.
Unfortunately I do not have the knowledge to implement the procedures outlined in your linked article.
Is it plannned to include this features in future versions? - There is still soup left!

Having to manually enter particle articles negates the most significant benefit of a CMS. Fortunately, the News Slider particle in the newest theme, Notio, does have the ability to use Joomla as the source of its articles. It wasn't working initially, but was fixed yesterday. Now, it seems to be working just as it should be.
Is it plannned to include this features in future versions?

- Thanks for the info! It the functionality of the Gantry 5 particles based on the theme? I do not even see an option to use joomla as a content source with the news ticker with the Xenon template.

More information on that is here:

- In Xenon we didn't have this ability to add content in particles, later on we implemented this and some themes don't have all of the particle with this function, also some of the particle will not have this ability as they suppose to be simple stuff to add content manually.
