    Split Menu in Gantry5

Posted 8 years 10 months ago
    • How do we select a menu to be a "Split Menu" vs a standard "Dropdown Menu" in Gantry 5?

    • We don't have a split menu option in Gantry 5 - But there's nothing stopping you creating separate menu's yourself and assigning them to the relevant pages (menu items and outlines). You can also set start and end level in the menu particle so you can use just the one menu if you wish.

    • When a separate menu module is created and assigned... in mobile view it will drop below content, and is not connected to main menu item. How does one create a true split menu in Gantry 5, ie, click on a main menu item, which has no dropdowns, and that page then has a sidebar menu... AND works that way in mobile? No dropdown displayed in normal view, but works as a dropdown in mobile menu mode?

      Is this possible?

Can RokNavMenu be used in a Gantry 5 template (currently working with Hydrogen from Gantry).

      Thanks

    • David McCreary - Please don't post in 9 month old dormant topics or we might miss your post altogether. It's always better to create a new topic of your own to ask a question.

The menu is a particle (not a module) on the layout. You can add another menu particle on the layout and position it wherever you like on the layout. You can tell that particle instance to start at a certain level and be based upon the current menu item. This is the equivalent of the split menu in Gantry 4. Similarly you can publish a menu particle in the offcanvas section to have it appear on mobile view too.

If you want the mobile menu to contain the whole hieracrchy of menu item (not split any longer) then you add another menu on the layout that uses the full hierarchy and give that a class of " visible-phone" and mark it as the "target" for the mobile menu.

      Regards, Mark.

    • If you are looking for PAID assistance then post in the "marketplace" forum. Give as much detail there so that developers can respond (e.g. budget timescale, development work required etc).
