SOLVED Audacity Wordpress Widget doesn't save Gantry Copyright content

I'm using Audacity 1.0 on WP 4.6.1, Gantry 4.1.10, RokCommon 3.1.12, RokSprocket 2.1.7.
I want to change my gantry copyright content using the widgets page for default or home page, and all I get when I click 'Save' (the gantry copyright widget) is a spinning wheel. It never actually saves. :_(
What can I do to fix this? - -- Peter

Your admin is throwing an ajax error on this function, which occurs when Save is clicked

rokSprocket
rokCommonLibrary
rokBox
rokAjaxSearch - oh, and this doesn't work either, probably for the same reason...
gantry 4 framework.
Results: no change. Sill spinning wheel. I noticed as well that search doens't work either.

Seems like a core Wordpress issue to me... search "wordpress admin-ajax.php 404"
try disabling RokAjaxSearch and see if that has any effect
Switch to one of the standard 2014-2016 themes and disable Gantry and see if that has any effect -

I did as you said but in the searching for "wordpress admin-ajax.php 404" I discovered about three or four results down, that yes it was a core issue, but not a WordPress issue. My hosting provider had setup a .htaccess in my root folder with a deny-all statement for the file admin-ajax.php. As soon as I re-enabled that power script all my missing services:
- search the site
- change the menus
- change the copyright detail in the gantry copyright widget
- new plugin search
- plugin update service
suddenly started working. Shame on them. I will be having a conversation with them about this.
