    Minimum size for responsive layout

Posted 9 years 5 months ago
    • Hello!
I have googled for hours trying to find a solution to my problem. The simplest way to put it is that I do not want my template to go into "mobile mode". A few of my users have an issue with the template being so small, it makes it hard to do a lot on my site. Is there a way to make the template have a minimum size but still be responsive? Lets say a minimum of 480px.

    • Okay, and just to be clear it is not the menu or anything that bothers me. It is how it goes down to 100px wide on my android. I understand that is so you do not need to zoom in, but it crushes the media so much.

My main concern is the Osmosis Template. If you drag your window down to a small size, or view it on mobile, everything goes into one single line. That beautiful header image looks like an after thought, almost in the way.

    • My Android HTC One M7 and iPod Touch as well as desktop. This happens on all my mobile browsers. It is like it goes to the smallest size by default on mobile.
I attached a screen shot from the desktop when the window is resized (to mimic what I see on mobile). See how the header image is just squished to the top like that? To me it looks awkward, and many of my users have said the same thing. The Spectral template is similar, everything gets crushed and is hardly useable or not at all like the cut off text, but at least the header image still fills the header.
Basically I want a way to make it look decent on a mobile browser without making it a fixed template. The size of the 3rd screen shot would be appropiate on a mobile device.
