I have a tab layout and I want to add a stripes shortcode in one of the tabs so that I can show 3 images at a time that can scroll through 15 images.
Is there any way this can work?
Adding the shortcode ot the description doesn't work.

I do not believe it will work... the jQuery, even stying possibly, is likely to get messed up
You should be able to load multiple RokSprocket Strips Widgets (shortcodes) to a Page though...
If it were me, I might try using Bootstrap coding... which may or may not work out of the box as our Themes have *some* bootstrap libraries already... well... css... I don't think many/any have any bootstrap .js
anyways, I was referring to this: getbootstrap.com/javascript/#tabs
You could create some tabs on your Page with that bootstrap code, do whatever other custom titles/descriptions you needed, and stick your RS shortcodes in there as well...
In theory that should work... no promises, untested, but if I needed something like that, it's what I'd probably try first
