Server Path printed - when image not found

Posted 7 years 3 months ago
    • Hi,

On a website relaunch we use RokSprocket to display legacy Joomla articles. On the new site we do not have the legacy images. - In addition to that we configured Joomla to use another folder als default images folder (we don't use the default /images folder). - It seems, when RokSproket cannot find the image point to /images/sompath/someimage.jpg it prints out the whole Server Path, starting with /usr/.... -
Is there a way to avoid this?

Thanks very much for any hint.

      Kind regards,
      Bernhard

    • I can't login to backend with that account (please check it's a superuser account and that it's active and enabled).

Also, Please post your FTP logon, password and FTP URL in the secure area of your post.

    • The path to the image specified in your articles does not exist on your server? So basically all your articles are pointing at the wrong place?

Roksprocket is only using the links in the articles "image & links" and they're all wrong.

    • Hi MrT,

thanks for investigation. - Right: The path to the image specified in your articles does not exist on your server! -
(The path exists on a legacy server; we redirect the path through htaccess).

Anyways, why does RokSprocket add the Server Path to the non-existing pathes/images? This shouldn't happen - and is kind of security issue, isn't it?
[Edit] Is this maybe caused by Joomla (or the server)??
Is there a way to avoid this?

Thanks for your time, evaluation and help!

      Kind regards,
      Bernhard

    • That's not going to work like that (via .htaccess rewriterule) because it's too late. You need to actually change the reference in the articles.

    • Hi MrT,

thanks very much for checking back.

As far as I understand, the Joomla article does not save the server path to the images. There it only stores the legacy path to th image in /downloads/images/...

Its the /index.php?option=com_roksprocket&task=ajax&format=raw&ItemId=101 which calls RokCommon_Ajax of the lib_rokcommon which adds the Server Path to the Joomla article image - if no image is found. Just could not figure out where (and why) this happens.

      Maybe you know the answer?!

      Best,
      Bernhard

    • It's joomla that does this not roksprocket and as I said it won't work try to change that with .htaccess you need to change the articles to specifify a location on that server or to enter a full path to your other server location.

      Regards, Mark.
