Installed the free RokMiniEvents 3.0.2, failed on creating new module

Posted 8 years 9 months ago
    • I downloaded the free RokMiniEvents 3.0.2 from the RocketTheme site, installed successfully, however, when I tried to create a new module, it throws error as below:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC in /home3/foundba8/public_html/uat/modules/mod_rokminievents3/lib/RokMiniEvents3.php on line 21

Can anyone help to sort it out? Thanks.

My site is Joomla 2.5.28 which is the latest and last version of Joomla 2.5

    • This is usually on eof two things:

      1) an older PHP version
      2) your Google Calendar isn't setup properly

    • Thank you.

As the site is hosted with other hosting company, I am not sure if I can do anything related to PHP or not, but in terms of the Google Calendar configuration, I have tried to follow the steps found on the module's documentation , and am stuck here:

How do I open up this step shown on this image? I seem not seeing it on the page, can you indicate? Thanks lots.

Look in the Admin -> Module Manager -> Type dropdown -> RokMiniEvents
      It should be there.

    • Thanks Dan, here is what I did:

      1. I installed the module, successfully
      2. I followed the instruction until I am stuck at the last step which I showed you in my previous reply
      3. If I go to Module Manager and tried to add a New module, I saw the type in the list but I got this when I selected it:

    • Now I am seriously thinking the RokMiniEvents 3.0.2 was NOT installed successfully indeed, but I don't see there is any error message after installation

Try uninstalling it. Then download a fresh copy from the Extension site and then install that and hopefully you should be error free.

    • Thank you, no use at all, I started a new installation on the UAT site, the installation did not prompt for any error, I got the same error when I create a new module.

Can you please take a look? I can create admin access for you to enter the site.

      Thank you very much.

Actually, would you please create a Super Admin login for me along with FTP access info and place it in the SECURE part of your Reply
