News Items in a Flash
RokNewsFlash is module to display brief snippets of an article. The extension is perfect for Headlines as it can cycle through your chosen articles, displaying the content item title or a preview of the content itself. The items are cycled through automatically by the module's javascript. There are two control buttons which all you to navigate the previous and next articles manually, and the automatic cycling will continue from that point on.
The essential elements of RokNewsFlash can be easily configured in its settings. There are options that cover all the required aspects that you would wish to change, from content to transition.
UPDATE: RokNewsFlash for Joomla 1.5 has been updated to be compatible with the K2 extension.

History
RokNewsFlash first made an appearance with the January 2008 Joomla Template Release, the MediaMogul template. You can see its various configurations in action on the demo (link previous). Over time, it has been used on a variety of different templates until its latest release as fully independent.
Installation - Joomla 1.5
Downloading the Extension Files
- RokNewsFlash Module (mod_roknewsflash.zip) This file is the module package you will use to install RokNewsFlash into Joomla.
Using the Joomla Installer
From the Menu in your Joomla Administrator, go to Extensions → Install/Uninstall.
Next, browse for your mod_roknewsflash.zip file you downloaded and then click Upload File & Install.
Accessing the Module Page
Next, go to Extensions → Module Manager. From the list, find RokNewsFlash and open it to be brought to the RokNewsFlash Module Manager page, which lists all the available options for the module.
Configuration
RokNewsFlash is a highly configurable module that allows you to control the various aspects of its appearance and functions. Details of each options are as follows:-
Frontpage Item: This option controls whether the module displays frontpage items or not.Count: Set how many items you want to appear in RokNewsFlash.
Category: Choose which category you wish to load the articles from.
Section: Choose which section you wish to load the articles from.
Use Title or Intro Text: Controls what is used for the snippet, either the title of the article or an extract of the intro text.
PreText Label: This is the text which appears before the transitioning articles, such as Newsflash:.
Show Controls: As the module comes with navigational controls, this option allows you to show or hide them.
Transition Duration: This is the time, in milliseconds, for the switching of content items.
Delay Length: This is the time, in milliseconds, for the content to remain static.
Preview Length: Input a numerical value which equates to how many characters you wish for the module to show.
