Quasar Drupal Theme

Quasar Quasar is our second Free / GPL theme released by RocketTheme for the Drupal platform. With Drupal, Quasar becomes a very powerful and feature rich theme, on an almost comparable level with our Club themes, in terms of functionality.

In conjunction with Drupal, the other features such as a CSS dropdown menu and 6 style variations, amongst many others, make Quasar a useful, diverse and functional free theme, great for any purpose.

CSS Dropdown Menu

Quasar is outfitted with custom styling for the Drupal Main Menu. This styling, allows the menu to be transformed from a basic list to a dynamic, CSS dropdown menu.

960 Grid System

We now feature the 960 Grid system for simple and consistent layout for our themes. Along with easy customization in the theme administrator.

The entire theme is based on the grid system. Each block regions is divided into the appropriate grid based on the number of blocks in the region. You can modify the grid for each region in the Theme Admin > Grid Layouts section.

Installation


To Install Using the RocketLauncher

Download the Quasar RocketLauncher (rt_quasar_d6-rocketlauncher.zip) This is the RocketLauncher pack for Quasar which is a complete Drupal install which has the theme pre-installed and configured. Similarly, the demo content is injected and the modules are also pre-installed. Available for D6 and D7.
  • Extract d_quasar_d6-rocketlauncher.zip
  • Copy the contents to the location you want to install Drupal
  • Navigate to that location in your browser and run the Drupal installer
  • Drupal, the theme, demo content and modules will all be installed and enabled

Install Theme and Modules Only

Download the Quasar Theme (rt_quasar_d6.tgz) This file is the theme-only package you will use to install just the theme into Drupal.
  • Extract d_quasar_d6.tgz
  • Load your FTP client, such as FileZilla
  • Upload the d_quasar_d6 folder to the /sites/all/themes/ folder in your Drupal install
  • Login into the Drupal administrator
  • Go to Administer | Themes
  • Check Enable and Default to the right of Quasar
  • Click Save Configuration
Download the Quasar Modules (rt_quasar_d6-modules.zip) This file is the modules-only package you will use to install just the modules into your Somaxiom-themed Drupal site. (Only needed for D6)
  • Extract d_quasar_d6-modules.zip
  • Extract the individual modules
  • Load your FTP client, such as FileZilla
  • Upload the various Quasar modules folders to the /sites/all/modules/ folder
  • Login into the Drupal administrator
  • Go to Administer | Modules
  • Enable the Custom Modules (Other) for Quasar
  • Click Save Configuration

Other Downloads

There are other files that you may wish to download that accompany the release, but are not required for the theme to work.

  • Quasar Source PNG(s) rt-quasar-sources.zip – This contains all the Adobe Fireworks PNG source files for the theme, and if applicable, the logo font.
