Nexus Drupal Theme

Nexus Nexus is the November 2010 release from RocketTheme. Its primary focus is that of style control, allowing for quick, simple and wide reaching changes of the theme's styling with a few theme parameter toggles. Also sporting a recoded layout, perfectly catered for search engine optimisation.

Implement of custom, non-standard fonts using CSS is another key feature of Nexus.

Fusion Menu

Fusion is effectively a dropdown menu which combines the former RokMoomenu and Suckerfish systems into one, offering both a javascript enhanced and basic, simple dropdown modes. The menu itself is built on the rewritten core of the latest revision of RokNavMenu, the core application behind all RocketTheme menus.

Fusion offers a series of new abilities ranging from Menu Icons, Subtext support and much greater controls over the Multiple Column ability for dropdowns.

The structure places the main content before the side columns in the code hierarchy which is beneficial for SEO purposes as your primary content is crawled first by the search engines such as Google.

Installation


To Install Using the RocketLauncher

Download the Nexus RocketLauncher (rt_nexus_d6-rocketlauncher.zip) This is the RocketLauncher pack for Nexus which is a complete Drupal install which has the theme pre-installed and configured. Similarly, the demo content is injected and the modules are also pre-installed.
  • Extract d_nexus_d6-rocketlauncher.zip
  • Copy the contents to the location you want to install Drupal
  • Navigate to that location in your browser and run the Drupal installer
  • Drupal, the theme, demo content and modules will all be installed and enabled

Install Theme and Modules Only

Download the Nexus Theme (rt_nexus_d6.tgz) This file is the theme-only package you will use to install just the theme into Drupal.
  • Extract d_nexus_d6.tgz
  • Load your FTP client, such as FileZilla
  • Upload the d_nexus_d6 folder to the /sites/all/themes/ folder in your Drupal install
  • Login into the Drupal administrator
  • Go to Administer | Themes
  • Check Enable and Default to the right of Nexus
  • Click Save Configuration
Download the Nexus Modules (rt_nexus_d6-modules.zip) This file is the modules-only package you will use to install just the modules into your Nexus-themed Drupal site.
  • Extract d_nexus_d6-modules.zip
  • Extract the individual modules
  • Load your FTP client, such as FileZilla
  • Upload the various Nexus modules folders to the /sites/all/modules/ folder
  • Login into the Drupal administrator
  • Go to Administer | Modules
  • Enable the Custom Modules (Other) for Nexus
  • Click Save Configuration

Other Downloads

There are other files that you may wish to download that accompany the release, but are not required for the theme to work.

  • Nexus Source PNG(s) rt-nexus-sources.zip – This contains all the Adobe Fireworks PNG source files for the theme, and if applicable, the logo font.
