The Extensions Club

Even though RocketTheme is primarily a Template club, extensions have always been an important aspect of our monthly releases. Now, we are placing a greater focus on our Extensions with the birth of the Extensions Club; separate download areas for the extensions; independent demos for the extensions; details and documentation for each extension plus a community forum to express your thoughts and concerns. Extensions provide an additional functional, visual and versatile layer to your site.

Extensions Club

For details on the specifics of the club, such as pricing, you will want to visit the Extensions Club Details page which provides general details, a list of features, a pricing table in addition to a series of Frequently Asked Questions.

However, a few relevant points will be discussed to provide you with an overview / summary. An important point to make is that all active members of the Joomla and phpBB3 clubs have complimentary access to the Extensions Club's features, that includes access to the Club Extensions download area in RokDownloads as well as access to the community boards in the Extensions section of our forum. Similarly, there are no upgrade or renewal routes from the Extensions Club to the Joomla and phpBB3 clubs. If you believe you wish to join the Joomla or phpBB3 clubs, it would be best to join them as you automatically receive access to the Extensions Club.

What Extensions are available?

Our extensions are segregated into two categories, Club and Free. The former requires a paid subscription in order to access with the latter being openly available to all. Similarly, our Club Extensions may become Free over time. Below are the list of Extensions available via the Extensions Club at time of writing:-

Standalone

Almost all the extensions noted can be observed in the Joomla Template Demos, as they were developed to supplement and accompany our Template releases. Such examples as RokAjaxSearch and RokStock (which appeared in SolarSentinel). Therefore, the extensions are generally integrated into the template, and subsequently, you cannot simply deploy the extension on another site with another template as, although the functionality is still there, the visuals are not. However, as standalone versions, which allow you to deploy an extension on essentially any site and it to look and work as would be expected, are a popular request, we have undertaken major development in order to update our modules to this standard. Subsequently, if you download the latest version of RokStories, you will be able to install it into a site of your choosing, and it will function and appear as expected.

In conjunction with the major updates to convert the applicable extensions to standalone, a series of other updates can be seen. Many reported bugs have been fixed for each module, plus the addition of varying new features, such as the Import Sample Data utility in RokStories.

Structure

The Extensions Club, like its Joomla and phpBB3 counterparts, is detailed with an assortment of areas, from the detail pages, download areas, individual demos to the update feeds.

Details: There are various sections of the detail pages such as the Club Details page, which provides information on the specifics of the club, such as pricing alongside FAQs on common topics; Extensions Listings, which list all available Club and Free extensions in a tabular manner; and the individual extension pages which provide summaries, features, screenshots and documentation for each extension. These content items will provide with the essential information you will require to use the extensions and we strongly recommend visiting them to maintain a firm understanding.

RokStories, to take an example, will show you how our documentation operates. Firstly, there is a summary view defining what the module is and what it is, followed by download and demo links. Beneath that, you will find a list of features follow by relevant screenshots succeeded by other applicable summary information. In the right column, you will observe the RokStories Menu module which allows you to navigate to other important parts of the specific detail page, such as Installation for instructions on installing the module; Documentation to outline any relevant details such as configuration options and requirements; Changelog, a list of changes made to the module; plus links to its Demo, its Download area and its Forum board.

Downloads: As we have two branches of the Extensions Club, Club and Free, there are two sections in RokDownloads as shown at the Extensions Download repository. Each individual section will have its own sub-directory within each branch. All available files will be listed within, which showcase a brief note on the particular update, the current version and a brief changelog which differ it from the previous upload.

Demos: As accessible here, you can see live examples of the extensions which are visual. Modules such as RokTwittie are showcased here, alongside an overview, general features, requirements, more information and live template club examples. The demos are designed to be a useful portal to each extension to provide you with all the information you need to get started plus any relevant examples of the extensions, integrated with our Joomla Club Templates.

Updates: Keeping appraised of the latest updates of our products is very important. Therefore, we have an Updates feed informing you of all the latest releases. Each update article outlines details of the update, the new version, a changelog plus a list of changed, added or remove files so that you can perform a manual update if you need.
