Joomla Templates - Join the RocketTheme Joomla Templates Club

Our RT members asked for a Sports Themed Joomla! Template, so that’s exactly what we delivered. This month we created a Sports/News design using design principles from our two most popular templates: InternetGazette and VersailityII. This template is stacked full of goodies including an amazing total of 64 color combinations, 3 custom modules, 12 collapsible module positions, and much much more.

An overview of the key features of this template are as follows:

RTSplitMenu Information

This exclusive RocketTheme menu system in this template use the mainmenu by default and this menu is configured in the admin administator. For these to function correctly, understand that the ‘top level’ menu items will show up as the horizontal buttons across the top of the template. For sub menu items, assign Parent Item to these top menus to the top-level item. These will then show up below in a sub-horizontal menu when you click on a top-level item. Instructions

1. Install as normal using the Site Templates Installer
2. to use the module variation, put -hilite in the module class suffix. This is done by click on the module in question in the “Site Module Manager”. Check out the full instructions and details.
3. The primary navigation for this template uses the exclusive RTSplitenu System. Refer to the menu instructions above to find out how to create the menu properly.
4. Follow the Module Position guide below to see the available module positions and place your modules accordingly. The sample content Joomla/Mambo modules should give you a good place to start
5. You can configure the menu and the color styles used by modifying the variables at the top of the template’s index.php file.
6. Download and extract the sporticus_modules.zip file. This contains the 3 modules needed to mimic the demo installation of Sporticus. Follow the setup instructions for each of the modules on the demo site.

NOTES:

1. This template fully supports full width configurations for use with galleries or forums, make sure you do not publish any modules in left or right and the ‘mainbody’ will fill the entire width.

Configuration

There are a couple of configuration options for this template. This month we’ve put the configuration variables in the template’s own index.php file. This way you can use the Edit HTML button in the Template Manager to quickly and easily make changes to these options. This is how you can choose the color variations and also configure some default variables. Also you can select which menu the RTSplitMenu system should use.
